Funerals at St. Mary's

The passing of a loved one is always difficult and often traumatic. At St. Mary's Kangaroo Point, you will receive the pastoral support that you and your family will need at such a time. Of course, we will assist you in the planning of the Funeral Service and arrange the printing of the Order of Service.

Christian Burial remains one of the most important aspects of our human experience. We all feel the pangs of death and loss. At St. Mary's we proclaim the Resurrection of Jesus and look for the eternal glory of life promised to us by Our Lord. We look to the power of the Easter message and offer the confidence of God's love and promises.

There are many things to consider when losing a loved one and for many people, thinking through details about important details, is difficult and emotional. We will assist you in the choosing of music, readings, memorabilia, Power Point Presentations and floral arrangements.

It is quite common these days for people to hold the complete Funeral Service in our beautiful, historic  church, then to gather in St. Mary's Church Hall for refreshments and continuing celebrations of the deceased's life. However, the Clergy at St. Mary's will conduct Burials at any of the Crematoriums or Cemeteries in the South East corner.

All of Brisbane's Funeral Directors are familiar with St. Mary's and all can accommodate our famous entry off Main Street. St. Mary's welcomes all the Funeral Directors of the South East of Queensland.

Parking for Funerals is available for around 30 cars, with plenty of off street parking available in the vicinity of the Kangaroo Point Park and entry via the Park Gates into St. Mary's Courtyard.

Music is a vital aspect of every funeral. At St. Mary's, our Director of Music and Organist, Christopher Wrench, is available to play our stunning Organ or beautiful Grand Piano.  Soloists can also be engaged to sing or assist in musical requirements for the regular fees asked.

As with all the ministries offered at St. Mary the Virgin On the Cliffs at Kangaroo Point, our mission is assure all the love and peace of God which passes all understanding. Where possible, we endeavour to follow up all funerals with appropriate care and support. Our aim is to provide genuine care of all who are in need and offer a beautiful place to conduct a Funeral that will reflect the love and honour to all who are caught up in a sensitive and difficult loss.

Catering can be arranged through St. Mary's. We can organise your requirements from Light Refreshments to a fully catered function with alcohol. This cost is organised per your requirements. Costs will vary according to your requirements and numbers.

The Costs of Funerals at St. Mary's

Church Fee: $300.00

Clergy Fee: $ as per arrangement with Funeral Director.

Floral Arrangements:   $150.00 If required

Musician: $250.00

Hire of Hall: $150.00
